Homeowners at The Orchards Take Charge of their Lifestyle

Residents at two metro Atlanta active adult communities are actively taking a part in creating the ultimate lifestyle for themselves and their neighbors. The Orchards of Brannon Oak Farm and The Orchards of East Cherokee, both active adult communities from The Orchards Group, feature an abundance of amenities and activities for their residents to enjoy. However, many of the events and activities at these two communities are organized and run by the homeowners, even though some of the events are sponsored by The Orchards Group.

The residents of each of these communities have taken responsibility for their lifestyle, and they have become more personally involved with the community and their neighbors. Often, the resident-planned activities prove to be more successful than those planned by an onsite activities director.

At The Orchards Group’s Hickory Flat community, The Orchards of East Cherokee, residents have been particularly active in scheduling events and activities over the past year. For example, as more homeowners have continued to move into the community, the monthly Meet and Greet dinner has expanded to being held three times per month.

“Each new homeowner that moves into our communities brings a different interest or hobby,” said Mitch Block, sales and marketing director for The Orchards Group. “Because of this, we are seeing a growing use of the clubhouse, which is exactly the intention. Hopefully, we will continue to see residents create new groups, such as card groups or even movie groups.”

Residents at The Orchards Group have also started groups that include a men’s coffee gathering, ladies lunch outing, Saturday night themed party, book club, game day and a craft club.
